The world is your oyster if you can find the perfect
http://www.examiner.com/melrose-makeup-in-los-angeles/the-world-is-your-oyster-if-you-can-find-the-perfect-pearl-eve-pearl-cosmetics

Behind every beautiful celebrity, is an even more talented makeup artist who can turn an ordinary canvas into a Monet with the right combination of tools and technique. For every successful makeup artist in Hollywood, there are hundreds who are forced to moonlight at Starbucks as the competition sucks them dry. It takes more than luck and the right connections to create a name for oneself in the makeup industry. At some point, sheer talent must win over and even more so if an artist dares to create his/her own line where cosmetic companies are folding like an old deck of cards in an Indian casino. Eve Pearl is one such case of an artist who has not only made it in her craft but has went on to create a line of stunning products as well as publish a book. We haven’t seen this since the days of Kevin Aucoin may he rest in peace. Eve Pearl is a five time Emmy Award winning celebrity makeup artist and the author of “Plastic Surgery without the Surgery, the Miracle of Makeup Techniques”. She is currently the personal Makeup Artist to Meredith Vieira with NBC's Today show and Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Eve's success is propelled by her wealth of energy, talent, creativity and skills. She has the ability to create the grand illusion, enhance natural beauty and create a masterpiece for the people with whom she has worked. This includes celebrities, brides and anyone who wants to bring out the best in their features.

Eve’s new premium product line eponymously called "Eve Pearl” is comprised of unique formulations of foundation and concealer trios, as well as her capstone product, the famous “Salmon Concealer”. Her products also include a cadre of stunning eye shadows and lip glosses. According to Eve Pearl, achieving the "Pearl Effect" is all about bringing out the beauty from within to enhance how we look and feel about ourselves. Feeling confident is one thing but it always helps to have an arsenal of fantastic products to work with. Among the “must haves” of Eve Pearl’s line are the following treats:

Salmon Concealer® & Treatment-$35

Ideal for your makeup bag, travel and those on the go, this lightweight creamy concealer can be applied with your fingers, a brush or a sponge and is available in light, medium or dark. Eliminating dark circles is always a challenge yet this revolutionizing the use of the “Salmon” or pinky/peach color as an under eye concealer effectively neutralizes the dark blue undertones from the skin. This luxurious silky cream provides full coverage with a non-greasy texture that glides on smooth to the most delicate area of your face. Moreover, it offers the advantages of the powerful anti-oxidant, AstaReal®/Astaxanthin - a key ingredient in the CosmeNutrient® Complex. This concealer is ideal for use when flawless precision is required with High Definition cameras and works just as well in “real life”. Also, it is a good choice for sensitive skin as it won’t cause breakouts or allergic reactions.

Pearlicious Lip Gloss in “Climax”-$20

This gorgeous shade of pink/bronze provides fresh color and a smooth glide. The delicious and non-sticky texture provides a slip that feels fresh and moist on your lips. Further, the pearl shine will hydrate and nourish, giving the appearance of fuller, smoother and healthier looking lips. This shade is a great choice for all skin tones as the bronze shimmer flatters from the fairest to the darkest of complexions.

The Eye Palette - Diamond Eyes-$40

It is no wonder that this palette of six stunning shades is called “Diamond Eyes". This combination of silvers, golds and navy hues will transform the most ordinary orbs to the most pearlicious poppers! While the darker shades may be a bit dramatic for a daytime look, the gold and silver can work for daytime as an allover lid color combined with the use of the navy shade wet to serve as an eyeliner. These shades can be applied with sponge tip applicator or with Eve Pearl brushes. The rich textured formula blends perfectly on your skin for long lasting wear.

While we may have to be selected to appear as finalists on Millionaire to take advantage of Eve Pearl’s on site services, we can always look like a million bucks with her fantastic products! The Eve Pearl line is available at: www.evepearl.com and for those in Southern California at Naimes Beauty Center located at: 12640 Riverside Dr. in Valley Village. For store hours call: (818) 665-9933

Interview with Sam Fine in The Style Observer
Get to know Sam Fine, one of the top celebrity makeup artist,  in this in-depth interview by Style Observer. If you are in Jamaica on Sept 10, be sure to stop by Permanent Cosmetics Studio for a workshop with Sam Fine!  Here is an excerpt...to read the rest click on the link below!

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/lifestyle/The-Fine-Finish-_7878302

Style Observer: How has Sam Fine managed to remain at the top of his game in an environment that is so competitive?

Sam Fine: I don't see it as a competitive industry, I compete with myself... from that standpoint if I were to look at the competition that's out there then I'd see lack...I would see, for example, Halle Berry on a Vogue cover that I didn't do; work that I wasn't a part of and that really isn't part of my reality. My reality is what I bring to the game, how special and unique I am.

SO: You have long understood the dynamics of women of colour and as such were able to cross over. Long before it became the norm. Tell us about this.

SF: Having been in this industry for almost 20 years, I go almost anywhere my clients take me; there's no formula...when Queen Latifah did Covergirl, when Brandy did Covergirl, when Beyoncé did L'Oreal...I was lucky enough to be requested for those jobs, and few of us (make-up artists) have had the opportunity to work with such stellar celebs who will bring us along on their journey to even greater success. That's the reason I can do a DVD and make appearances in Jamaica... they have set the stage.

What is Eve's 3 favorite products?
Carissa, from HookedOnBeauty.com, has asked Eve what is her 3 favorite foundation, mascara, and moisturizer. Read on to find out!
http://www.hookedonbeauty.com/search/label/Beauty%20Big%203

Check out her site!

Beauty Big 3: Eve Pearl

5 time Emmy Award winning celebrity Makeup Artist (who's also Meredith Vieira's personal Makeup Artist for the Today Show) has a fabulous line of cosmetics customized to fit the needs of both celebs under the hot lights, and us girls looking for an easy routine with beautiful results. Here are Eve's Beauty Big 3 that she didn't have to go very far to find.

Foundation:

Pearl's best-selling HD Dual Foundation (I use it in my kit) is of course her pick for fav foundation. She said she developed it for those with sensitive skin as not just a makeup, but as a treatment as well. It has "powerful antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, peptides, and proteins with a natural sunscreen equivalent to an SPF 20, an alternative to those who are allergic to SPF." It's a versatile coverage that can go from sheer to full depending on how it's applied, and all ages can enjoy wearing it.

Mascara:

Her go-to for everyday wear is her Glamour Lash mascara. She loves it because, "it's completely smudgeproof and tear proof." When she's looking to create dark lashes with tons of drama, she goes for Lancome Definicils.

Moisturizer:

I think moisturizers are usually the hardest pick because there are so many out there. Pearl agrees, but favors her own Priming Moisturizer with Astaxanthin because it's "multifunctional and gives you all the benefits of a moisturizer, primer, sheer tint of color and sun protection... without using SPF or perfumes and chemicals. It works great for women and men." And just what is Astaxanthin, you ask? It's a very powerful antioxidant 500 times stronger than vitamin E.

Eve Pearl: No need for plastic surgery

One of the purposes of makeup is to cover or hide flaws, and more often than not accentuate the strong points of the face. In a woman’s daily routine, bargain shopping and an abundance of products often can get overwhelming, and then women are left settling for a product that doesn’t work. Professional makeup artist Eve Pearl has the solutions, and her expert advice is priceless as she proves in her book Plastic Surgery without the Surgery.

Eve Pearl recognizes the attachment and emotional commitment women make to their makeup. It becomes cult-like as women buy the same product, demanding more out of it and not getting what they need. Pearl identifies the problem areas of the average woman and conquers them with her flawless makeup tips, so that plastic surgery is not the first route a woman takes.

Laugh lines, crow’s-feet, acne, even double chins can all be solved with Pearl’s genius solutions and cosmetic line. After working on dozens of celebrities, including Kelly Ripa, achieving a clear complexion to getting rid of unwanted freckles, that perfect complexion is within reach.

This book is the “how to” for all women who are unhappy with a body part or anything on the face, even if it is just dark circles. It’s a read that is worth it for anyone who wears makeup, or has a flaw that they want to cover in just one stroke of the brush. This is a great way to reunite with the original purpose of makeup and to feel beautiful.

One of Pearl’s best selling products is the Salmon Concealer & Treatment, which tends to do so well because of their highly effective coverage, the vitamins, and the proteins and peptides, which do wonders for the skin. Loaded with anti-oxidants and stronger than vitamin E, it’s a promising coverage that also improves skin with use.

The EVE PEARL® Makeup Experience Studio & Boutique is located at 805 Third Avenue between 49th & 50th street on the Upper Level.

Eve Pearl Haul

Tuesday, May 4, 2010
Hi Bellas,

This post is long overdue.  A few weeks ago, I hauled some items from the Haute Look sale on Eve Pearl.  Weeks before that, i also hauled some goodies from www.EvePearl.com during her Anniversary sale.  I was also lucky enough to be gifted with some goodies from Eve Pearl as well.
These products are really amazing if you haven't tried them already.  I've already gotten one of my besties to be a devoted fan of the salmon concealer.  She's already on her second one!  Her complexion matches the Eve Pearl Medium Foundation while I rock the Tan.  I can use the medium concealer without a problem but I also picked up Tan for when I get a bit darker in the summer.
I was gifted the HD Dual Pressed Powder in medium.  This is great for me in the winter months when I'm a bit lighter.  For summer, I'll probably pick up Tan.  If you apply this with a damp brush and swirl, you instantly have a one minute foundation application.
My clients often come in with unruly brows.  Tweezing is time consuming and hurts!  For quick touch-ups, brow razors are the way to go.  I had some cheap ones from the drug store but they don't really work that well and the cap to protect the razor always falls off.  The Eve Pearl one is larger, works better, and you can fold it up easily.
I was gifted one of Eve Pearl's new glosses in Climax.  I wasn't sure about this color because it's a little different than what I usually rock, but once applied it's gorgeous!  I apply it in my video for you to see.  The texture is super smooth and the gloss has fine glitters that give a really nice shine.
I was excited to see that the Eve Pearl Black lash glue was on sale at Haute Look.  I picked mine up for about $2 each!  I got three - one for me and two for my kit, he he.  These are amazing.  They dry dark and matte, which is what I prefer.  They even seem to dry faster and hold more secure than the Duo Lash Adhesive in dark.
I was also sent the Bronzing Highlighter Trio in Classic.  This is similar to the Blush Trios but it contains a Gold, Pink and Champagne shade to give you a soft, bronzey glow.  You can rock these individually or swirled all together.  On my skin, it gives a nice frosty finish.  For darker skin tones, I'd swatch it first to see if it would apply ashy.
You can check out all these products at www.EvePearl.com.  They'll also be at the upcoming IMATS show in Pasadena and you can probably get them at a great discount.  I love these products for both myself and my pro kit.  I definitely recommend that you check them out.

Till next time, Ciao Bellas!

FTC Disclosure:  I purchased some of these items with my own money and others were gifted to me.  I was not paid to write this post and not affiliated with the company.  I was not asked to write this post either.  These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

Meet Eve Pearl- queen of cosmetics!

http://hellodollface.com/?p=3233

I had the chance to meet Eve Pearl a few months ago at the blogger preview MakeUp Show.   I was lucky to get a  make-over by this five time Emmy winning makeup artist and when I left her chair, I had flawless skin and perfectly made up eyes!  Oh how I wish I could have Eve with me every day for makeup application.  Lucky for me (and you) she offers lots of videos on how-to apply perfect makeup.  I watched with great interest how to properly apply the Dual Foundation/Salmon Concealer which was a big help to me.  I love Eve’s fantastic products which are supreme in their integrity and ingredients!  I highly recommend you visit her website which is chock full of products, videos, tips and tricks!

The Makeup Show NYC Weekend Reca

http://www.alllacqueredup.com/2010/05/the-makeup-show-nyc-weekend-recap.html

On my way out, I stopped by the Eve Pearl booth to meet Aina from Lacquerholic. Aina is a professional makeup artist and works with Eve Pearl, who is known for her work in TV and her current gig as Meredith Viera’s makeup artist.  Eve’s booth was so packed with people it was hard to chat much but I was so happy to finally meet her.

Bridal Beauty in New York City

http://www.weddingsalon.com/blog/index.php/2010/04/27/bridal-beauty-in-new-york-city-2/

I had the honor of meeting Eve Pearl about a month ago. She invited me into her studio on the East Side to get a make-over, which made me hesitant at first.  I usually shy away from stuff like that, since I usually feel too “made-up” when I leave the artist’s chair.   Well, I was finally proven wrong this time around! Eve Pearl is incredibly skilled and knows how to work with every skin type.  I walked out of her studio feeling like a new, even more fabulous version of myself!

Her past client list includes a bunch of celebrities.  She is used to having her work featured on high definition cameras, so you know she has to be great!  Just look at Meredith Vieira every morning on Today to see a sample of Eve’s handiwork.

Eve taught me how to use a light foundation and their “3 Shade Blush,” which was quick and easy.  I also learned to try a  Salmon-colored concealer under my eyes (it counteracts dark circles) instead of the old-fashioned cover up I was wearing for too long. The staff at the studio was so friendly and they even let me leave with all the make-up that they used during my trial!

When I came into work the next day, the girls at my office kept saying that I looked like I was glowing, so it looks like I’ve found my forever make-up!
-Tracy

Vancouver Olympics-2010

I'm in beautiful Vancouver for the next few weeks working with NBC's Today show as we cover the games and broadcast from the top of Grouse Mountain. The location is spectacular with breathtaking views. Unfortunatley, we've not had the best weather so far...a bit foggy and rainy. But I look forward to the clear days ahead. In the next few days I will be sharing some photos and videos with you all. Last nights Opening Ceremonies were quite something, however I felt the sadness for the unfortunate loss of Nodar Kumaritashvili in the Luge crash that took his life earlier that morning. As a Georgian myself, I felt a deep sorry for his family and team mates, as I'm sure the rest of the world felt the same. As much as I love what I do, I'm not the biggest fan of traveling and being away from my family and loved ones. I miss you all...so stay in touch. xo, Eve

Mini reviews and swatches - Eve Pearl, MUFE and A-Design

http://www.ymbeautyblog.com/2010/02/mini-reviews-and-swatches-eve-pearl.html

First up is my top purchase, Eve Pearl's famous Duo Salmon concealer in the colour Light/Medium.  I've wanted this for so long after reading and watching hundreds of rave reviews on the Internet but as I'm not a fan of buying makeup over the Internet I never dared order. I wish I had because this concealer is the most effective under eye cover up I've ever used.
Formulation wise it's second to none, luxuriously creamy, velvety to touch, non cakey and blendable.
It is effortless to use, silky on the skin and the two colours make it so easy to cover dark circles perfectly. I apply the darker more salmon shade first to conceal blue/purple tones around my eyes and then I go over the top lightly with the more natural shade to help it blend with the rest of my skin tone.  As much as I love my Bobbi Brown this under eye duo definitely has the edge texture wise making it my new handbag essential.
The other Eve Pearl purchase was this amazing lipstick in Nude Beach. I couldn't resist this gorgeous shade, you know how I love my nude peaches.  This has overtaken NYX's India as my all time favourite lipstick, it's a more subtle and wearable peachy nude making it perfect for everyday. It goes with all looks and has become my daily must have.

Must Have: Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer

http://themakeupgirl.net/2010/02/must-have-eve-pearl-salmon-concealer-treatment/

If you don’t know about Eve….peep the resume, she is currently working on the Today Show as Meredith Viera’s personal makeup artist.  ANYWAY…..I had the pleasure of meeting Eve and having her “beat my face” (YES, I sat in the makeup chair) as she worked her magic, she explained how her products were like, “skincare with color” a concept I loved.  As she worked…I was curious as she was using darker colors than I was accustomed to.  I was convinced that it was going to look too dark (you know how picky I am LOL) but I kept my mouth shut and let her work.  Boy was i surprised…..I instantly fell in LOVE with several products, one of which is the Salmon Concealer & Treatment.  While she was talking she brushed on what felt light as air (you know how I feel about things feeling heavy or cakey!) and after she did ONE eye I looked in the mirror and was FLOORED.  There was a distinct difference in the under eye area one side looked refreshed and the other looked pretty sad in comparison.  Eve chose a color for me that I normally would not have chosen (it looked dark to me, so I was giving her the side eye….LOL) but she says the concealer should be closer to your skin color to avoid that raccoon look.

History and research has shown that when the economy goes into a recession or a depression, the sale of lipstick increases. "The Lipstick Effect"... A term coined after the Great Depression, which saw sales of cosmetics rise in the four years from 1929 to 1933.

As the theory goes, glum consumers continue to spend money on small luxuries during times of economic or emotional stress to buy their spirits, a point underscored in the months after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States, which saw lipstick sales double.

It seems difficult for women to justify spending their hard earned money on the latest Louis Vuitton handbag or those Christian Louboutin pair of heels. At least they can still splurge on themselves with a small item like cosmetics or lipstick...to look good and hopefully feel better about themselves...

Humm...using the luxury of cosmetics to lift our spirits and feel pretty...well, that might have been the case in the Great Depression.... Ladies, times have changed...the current depression puts higher demands on everything...including our cosmetics.

Faced with news of increasing layoffs, straining economic pressure and the fact that competition out there is much greater than ever before...in all facets of life...we need to step it up. Let's face it; no one really knows when the next ball will drop. Everyone seems to be competing to get that client, keep that job or end up being one of the hundreds trying to get that one available new job. How do you get noticed, being one from so many...how can the fact that you have years of experience, knowledge and the ability to get the job done, not be overshadowed by the dark under eye circles you have from not sleeping. How can all the years you've put into your field be recognized as an asset when your self conscious about your uneven skin, rosacea or that nasty breakout? It does sound a bit silly, but is it? First impressions DO matter. Your appearance is a good investment even when times are very tough. People, who take care of themselves daily, seem to be able to get ahead of those who don't. Think about the time you spend getting your resume coiffed. The time you spend in finding the appropriate suite, all the hours spent hunting on search engines looking for jobs...

Time can give you the professional knowledge. But time can also take away the youthful sparkle of your appearance if you let it. When you look good, you feel confident. That gives you a Competitive Edge and something your colleagues and clients will certainly recognize, appreciate and come to expect.

The Lipstick Effect of 2009...cosmetics to help us feel pretty is not enough. Find multi function products that will treat your skin; to make you look good, feel good and that are good for you. Learn how to apply it properly for your field of business...and walk into a room confident that you have done everything to best represent yourself...with a Visual Competitive Edge!
