The EVE PEARL Salmon Concealer, Saaammaage's December Favorite of 2010
"Really smooth, creamy, really worth it if you are looking for something that's long lasting. It is a counteracting concealer..." to neutralize the blue dark circles instead of just covering them.

Eve Pearl Au Natural Eyeshadow Palette
Back in June, I got to try quite a few palettes from Eve Pearl after participating in the guru summit, and I was pretty impressed! One palette I didn’t get to try was the Au Natural Palette, which is a really nice palette for all skintones. I saw my friend Suzy had it when I went on vacation with her in NYC a few weeks back, and decided to grab it when Eve Pearl had their 50% off Black Friday sale.
I love the Eve Pearl palettes because they’re nice and small, and have a mirror, so they are great for taking with you on the go. I especially like this palette because it has a universal mix of frosts and mattes. This is a great palette for just about anyone, as these colors work for all skin tones!
This palette is great for: Those who don’t have much makeup, or need an easily accessible, easy to take with you palette for work or school that has great everyday colors.
Skip this palette if: You have loads of neutral shadows. If you’re looking for something portable, you can always just put a few in a Z-palette and throw it in your bag!
Lola Marie is an active beauty blogger and has reviewed several EVE PEARL products on http://www.luuux.com. According to her review of EVE PEARL's HD Dual Foundation, Lola says the lightweight formula offers great coverage for photo shoots!
Here's what else she had to say about our HD Dual Foundation:
"It comes with two colors, light and dark. The dark color you use for contouring. I purchased it in medium. I bought this foundation with a salmon concealer, a Loose Setting Powder, a Photo Finish Pressed Powder and a Priming Moisturizer. I know it is pricey but it makes your skin perfect especially for the wedding, prom or photo shoot. I always wear this product for party or special occasion.
This product doesn’t contain any SPF so it will be good for photo shoot. I wore this foundation also in summer and I didn’t feel anything on my face. I wore it on my friend’s wedding; I was a bride’s maid. I forgot to bring my makeup and I didn’t touch up my makeup until the end of the party. When I saw the pictures my face still looked fresh. I was impressed!
I bought the second one and I definitely will purchase it again but I will wait until it’s on sale."
Lola says she also likes EVE PEARL's Loose Setting Powder. To read Lola's review of this product and other EVE PEARL products, including our Priming Moisturizer with Astaxanthin, click here!
Here is an excerpt from her blog:
I LOVE this foundation. Its wonderful.
Its nicely cream and gives decent coverage, but at the same time, it blends well and set so it lasts nicely. I really really adore it! Top cream foundation.
No regrets buying it at all. I could have so easily went and bought lots of cheaper items that I’d toss to one side after the show, I’m glad I invested in something that I will use.

Holly, author of YM Beauty Blog, says she attended the IMATS 2010 in London and knew she wasn't leaving without her favorite EVE PEARL products. Holly says she had to push her way through the large crowd of beauty addicts to get to the EVE PEARL booth but says Eve's famous Salmon Concealer made the journey worth it! Holly says our Duo Salmon Concealer in Light/Medium was her top purchase at the trade show.
Here's a blurb from Holly's blog:
"I've wanted this for so long after reading and watching hundreds of rave reviews on the Internet but as I'm not a fan of buying makeup over the Internet I never dared order. I wish I had because this concealer is the most effective under eye cover up I've ever used.
"Formulation wise it's second to none, luxuriously creamy, velvety to touch, non cakey and blendable.
It is effortless to use, silky on the skin and the two colours make it so easy to cover dark circles perfectly. I apply the darker more salmon shade first to conceal blue/purple tones around my eyes and then I go over the top lightly with the more natural shade to help it blend with the rest of my skin tone.
As much as I love my Bobbi Brown this under eye duo definitely has the edge texture wise making it my new handbag essential.
The other Eve Pearl purchase was this amazing lipstick in Nude Beach. I couldn't resist this gorgeous shade, you know how I love my nude peaches.
This has overtaken NYX's India as my all time favourite lipstick, it's a more subtle and wearable peachy nude making it perfect for everyday. It goes with all looks and has become my daily must have.
Please excuse the hideous blemish on my lip!!
The texture is as luxurious as the concealer, creamy and silky like YSL Rouge Volupte's but much longer lasting."

Best of 2010: Beauty Guide
I know 2010 came to an end 2 weeks ago .. but I thought it would be appropriate (not to mention highly requested) to list my top ten beauty products of 2010. I couldn’t find it in me to rank them since I love them all so dearly, so I’ll just list them A-J, Enjoy!
A. Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre
This is a favorite amongst makeup artists for its multi-purpose functionality (moisturizer, primer, spot cleanser). Both my clients and I love the soothing scent and creamy texture.
B. Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish
My 2010’s Find of the Year Award winner! The texture is exquisite and the effects of the powder is every girl’s dream. Airbrush finish, healthy glow, all while decreasing the appearance of wrinkles? Yes, please! Diamond Perfect Finish is hands down a girl’s best friend ;)
C. Purely Cosmetics Pure Silk Powder
The overlooked sister of Purely Cosmetic’s Diamond Perfect Finish. I was lucky enough to give this product a try during the summer months and immediately fell in love. I use the pure silk powder as a primer and due to its ability to absorb or release moisture according to temperature and humidity, it keeps my face matte throughout the day without that super dry feeling. It absorbs excess oils, reflects UV rays, and contains 18 essential oils. Need I say more? Combine the two and you have yourself a winning combination.
D. Lash Royalty false lashes
False lashes are the key element to adding that extra oomph to a look, but they do come at a price. A price of $3 a pair (on average) for single use lashes to be exact--it can definitely add up. Enter Lash Royalty. While the lashes are $15 a pair, they are high quality and reusable. I’ve used my current pair 7 times so far and they’re still in good condition ready for a few more wears ... totally worth the investment!
E. Eve Pearl HD Salmon Concealer
Suffer from dark under eye circles? Fret no more! Eve Pearl's Salmon Concealer is not just the perfect salmon tone ready to neutralize the blueness under your eyes ... the ingredients within the product will also treat your dark circles over time! Double win!
F. MAC Vanilla Pigment
An oldie but a goodie. Vanilla pigment is a staple to my daily makeup routine. From highlighting the brow bone and cheek bones or giving my foundation an extra sheen to my face ... Vanilla pigment is definitely an essential element to both my personal and professional kit.
G. Milani nail polish
Better known for their makeup ... Milani brand nail polishes have quickly topped my list of favorite formulations. While China Glaze, Zoya, OPI, Sally Hansen are the more recognized brands ... I find myself reaching for my Milani polishes far more than any other brand I own. Whether it's the opaque coloring, or the smooth application the brush allows ... I can't get enough of them and can't wait to add more Milani polishes to my collection.
H. Best Bath Store's Acne Bar Soap
Easily the product I recommend the most to my clients. This bar soap has done wonders for my skin as well as the clients I've recommended this to. It's amazing what a week of washing your face with this soap can do for you!
I. OCC Lip Tars – NSFW, Feather, Tarred
A cult favorite amongst makeup artists everywhere. This opaque lipstick in a lipgloss form has been mentioned in almost every beauty blog out there! The tiniest bit goes a long way and the color payoff is like no other.
J. Shu Uemura lash curler
If you love makeup -- then you've heard of the Shu Uemura lash curler. It's been top of my list for years and 2010 is no exception. If you have short, straight lashes like I do give the Shu Uemura lash curler a try--I guarantee you won't look back.
Thank you MyGlam2go for adding us to the list!
The quality of the canvas has a role to play in the final finish of a painting. The same logic applies when your face is the canvas. That's why its worth your money to spend it on good quality concealer, correctors and face primers.
Concealers are used to lighten the area under the eyes, to disguise "bruises" or similar imperfections. They are usually available in shades of beige, to neutralize any bluish and purple undertones in the skin. Concealers have a thick creamy opaque texture.
Correctors are meant to “camouflage" a different set of skin imperfections:
- circles under the eyes are too dark;
- redness in the wings of the nose and between eyebrows
- pimples and scars
Most of us use concealers to disguise under eye circles. In fact, to do it flawlessly can be quite a challenge. It is important to select not only the right shade, but also the correct texture of concealer.
Here are some things to remember when choosing a concealer:
- If the concealer is too light, it will obviously lighten circles under your eyes, making them unnaturally white - and therefore more noticeable.
- Ideally, the concealer should be lighter than the skin on the half step, especially if you do not use foundation.
- Powder-concealer tends to collect between the wrinkles, making your adjustment be visible to others.
- Solid concealer sticks and pencils are usually quite difficult to be applied to the area under the eyes - they are used to mask the point redness of the skin.
For circles under your eyes it is better to use a concealer of creamy texture, containing softening, toning and moisturizing ingredients to prevent dryness and aging of delicate skin around the eyes.
As some of you may know, last weekend I was at IMATS ( International Make-Up Artist Trade Show) in Toronto, and had an unforgettable experience there. I had a chance to meet the most amazing of celebrity make-up artists.
I've got a bunch of make-up products from the show but my favorite, that I use every morning since, is the famous EVE PEARL's “Salmon Concealer”.
Its texture is amazingly creamy and goes on very smoothly. It covers my under eye circles very well and leaves my skin feeling hydrated.
“Salmon” or pinky/peach color as an under eye concealer helps to neutralize the bluish undertones on skin.
As listed on www.evepearl.com here are some additional benefits of the concealer
- 550 times stronger than vitamin E
- Provides support for skin at the cellular level.
- Helps to improve skin naturally.... no harsh chemicals.... no dangerous procedures.
- Helps to fight the effects of the aging process.
- Has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce burn levels after UVB exposure
- Has a natural sunblock, equivalent to SPF 20
As if I needed more reasons to love what it does!
"This concealer is best for under the eyes as it has a gel like consistency. It doesn't cake up, yet is pigmented enough to cover the darkest of undereye circles. (The color I have is "tan"). I apply this under my foundation in a thin layer."
Watch this second video on how she applies the Salmon Concealer & Treatment.
Watch Vanessa's EVE PEARL method application and HD Dual Foundation.
"I love this stuff, gives a nice flawless finish.... Another thing I like about this product is that it works really well with water (like using a wet sponge to blend). It feels natural, light (on the skin). Love the packaging, the extra plastic protective coverage -feels hygenic."
